Eulogy for Stephen Michael Kinsey Jr.

Stephen Michael Kinsey, Jr.

Born 28 June 2008
Died 12 July 2008

Victor Frankl once said "We cannot judge a biography by its length, by the number of pages in it; we must judge by the richness of the contents. Sometimes the "unfinisheds" are among the most beautiful symphonies."

In his short life, Stephen Jr touched me in many ways. He taught me the importance of family. I got to see my family drop everything and rally around one another in ways that are difficult to express with words.

He allowed me to see my brother at his best. I saw him be a loving father, a comforting husband, and a strong man. He drew from from strength of will that I'm not sure I even possess.

Little Stephen was a fighter. He fought enough to allow Dee to hold him for his last few moments on this earth. He went from the comforting embrace of his earthly mother to the welcoming embrace of his heavenly Father.

I do not know what the future will bring, but I know that I will carry the memories of little Stephen with me forever.

During this time of mourning I can only hope that God fulfills His promise when He says "The lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in Spirit."
